Corporate Counsel, Ops AI/ML

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) products and services across our worldwide operations organizations. You will be an integral part of our AI/ML compliance implementation, serving as a subject matter expert on emerging AI/ML regulations, and helping business clients anticipate and address legal risks related to the development and deployment of foundation models and generative AI. You will also develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and build processes that help our clients innovate and scale quickly.

Your duties will include: (i) influencing and participating in the development of AI/ML industry standards; (ii) working cross-functionally with public policy, public relations, legal, and business and technical product owners on strategic AI/ML issues; (iii) building processes and tools to scale compliance support for AI/ML products and services across WW Ops; and (iv) counseling on legal risk mitigation through technical architecture and product design.

The successful candidate will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

This position may be based in Seattle, WA or New York, NY. Some travel may be required.
