About the Role:

Stability AI is seeking a Communications Lead with expertise in corporate and crisis communications to join our Marketing & Communications team. The ideal candidate will be an expert communicator and strategic thinker, adept at managing both proactive corporate communications and reactive crisis communications. In this role, you will help safeguard the company's reputation and effectively communicate our mission and values.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and Execute Proactive Corporate Communications Strategy: Formulate and implement a comprehensive corporate communications strategy that aligns with business objectives and reinforces Stability AI’s position as a leader in open generative AI. This includes crafting press releases and other corporate messaging to educate press, customers, investors, and policymakers on our business strategy and advancements.
• Lead Crisis Communications and Risk Management: Manage crisis response when needed, anticipate risks and provide mitigation strategies, provide timely information to stakeholders, monitor media coverage for potential issues, and conduct post-crisis evaluations for continuous improvement. 
• External Engagement Preparation: Provide support to team members across the organization, preparing executives and spokespersons for media interviews and public addresses, ensuring consistent messaging and effective communication that aligns with business objectives.
• Performance Tracking and Analysis: Monitor and analyze company and competitive media coverage and online conversations to measure campaign effectiveness and identify areas of opportunity. Prepare readouts for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. 

Qualifications:

• Experience in technology communications (preferably with AI knowledge)
• Proven track record of both strategy and tactical execution of communications campaigns. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft and edit corporate communications at a professional level. 
• Extremely organized individual who can successfully manage a project while moving quickly and navigating ambiguity. 
• Ability to manage and influence various stakeholders, including senior management and external agencies.  
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to measure the effectiveness of communication activities.
• A college degree is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills to do the job.
