Commercial Prototype Manager

Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. 

The Commercial Prototype Manager will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining physical replica environments for commercial and retail applications. This includes managing suppliers, delivery dates, and a team of technicians to deliver many workcells for the robots to operate upon. 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining all physical replicas of customer environments and retail environments within which the robot will operate 
• Determines what materials are needed, how to get them, what timelines can be achieved, and how big of a supporting team is needed to execute
• Must be able to replicate these environments with imperfect information and make them consistent across many workcells 
• Responsible for building other materials that are customized to allow the robot to do certain use cases (i.e. a custom transportation rig if a customer hallway is especially narrow, etc)

Requirements: 

• Excellent communication skills
• Minimum of 7-10 years prototyping experience 
• Ability to work with suppliers and timelines for materials 
• Ability to fabricate both mechanical and electrical structures 
• Ability to creatively design new physical structures to solve customer needs 

Bonus Qualifications: 

• PLC, IT recreation experience 
• Military experience
