We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Associate AI Engineer to join Workday's Enterprise AI Strategy and Product Management organization.

In this role, you won't just write code; you'll be an architect of intelligent solutions, using a modern toolkit of low-code platforms, APIs, and your own programming skills to build the next generation of AI-powered agents and workflows.

This is a hands-on-keyboard role for a builder at heart who is eager to grow in the fast-paced world of applied AI. You will work side-by-side with Product Managers and business leaders to rapidly prototype, build, and deploy AI agents that solve real-world problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Build AI Agents: Utilize leading low-code and no-code platforms (e.g., Sana, Flowise, Langraph, ADK etc.) to design, construct, and deploy conversational AI agents and automated workflows.

  • Develop Custom Data Connectors: Write, test, and maintain robust data connectors and integrations using JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js. You'll be responsible for connecting our agents to various internal and external APIs (REST, GraphQL) to fetch and manipulate data.

  • Implement Agent Logic and Tooling: Go beyond simple Q&A by implementing complex logic, state management, and tool-use capabilities within the agents you build.

  • Collaborate on Prototypes: Partner closely with the AI Product Manager to rapidly translate user stories and requirements into functional proofs-of-concept, providing quick feedback on technical feasibility.

  • Test and Iterate: Rigorously test agent performance, accuracy, and reliability. Debug integration issues and continuously iterate on agent capabilities based on user feedback and performance metrics.

  • Maintain and Document: Create clear documentation for the connectors you build and the agents you deploy, ensuring our solutions are maintainable and scalable.

  • API & Data Fluency: A strong understanding of how to work with REST APIs and handle common data formats, especially JSON. You know how to make a request, parse a response, and handle errors.

  • Applications and integrations: Familiarity with no-code, low-code, high-code, and vibe coding platforms to build AI agents. Deep technical knowledge of enterprise software application development and enterprise application integrations (Salesforce, Apttus, MuleSoft/SnapLogic, Databricks, Snowflake etc.

Other Qualifications:

  • Problem-Solving Skills: You are a scrappy and resourceful problem-solver, able to learn new technologies quickly and figure out solutions to ambiguous challenges.

This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
