About the Role
We are seeking an experienced product manager with a strategic product thinking and hands-on "builder" mindset. This role will challenge you to work across strategy, execution, and hands-on delivery in Workday's Enterprise AI Incubation Lab to build moonshot ideas and deliver high impact products from 0 to 1.
Define Product Strategy: Drive the AI product vision and strategy by collaborating with executive leadership and business unit owners to identify and qualify the highest-value opportunities for leveraging Generative AI, machine learning, and AI agents to reinvent core business processes.
Partner on Product Delivery: Collaborate deeply with AI/ML engineering, data science, and design teams to translate the product roadmap into detailed technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for both model development and application-layer UX.
Manage Business Case Lifecycle: Develop and own the business case for AI initiatives, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), estimating business impact, and establishing a continuous feedback loop to measure and report on ROI post-launch.
Groom Product Backlog: Own and manage the AI product backlog, translating ambiguous business problems into a prioritized roadmap of use cases, model improvements, and agent capabilities.
Conduct Market Evaluations: Serve as the internal subject matter expert on the applied AI landscape, continually assessing emerging trends, foundational models, MLOps vendors, and potential build-vs-buy or partnership opportunities.
Partner cross-functionally: Shepherd products from concept to launch by partnering with marketing, legal, and operations to define go-to-market strategies, enablement materials, and a data-driven process for iterating on post-launch performance and feature gaps.
Build and Test Rapid Prototypes: Rapidly develop proofs-of-concept (PoCs) and functional prototypes using Python, APIs, and low-code/no-code platforms to validate ideas and demonstrate the "art of the possible" to stakeholders.
Develop and Refine AI Agents: Directly build, test, and refine AI agents using frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or internal tooling. This includes prompt engineering, tool integration (APIs), and defining agentic logic for specific tasks.
Engage with Technical Details: Act as the bridge between the business vision and technical execution, comfortable diving into API documentation, assessing model performance metrics (e.g., accuracy, latency, cost-per-inference), and contributing to technical design discussions.
Drive User Adoption: Create and manage user feedback programs, acting as the primary point of contact to understand user pain points and evangelize the benefits of new AI-powered features.

Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.
Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process!
