THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly skilled AI software architect with a background in different AI software flows, frameworks and compilers to drive our work around optimal inference.

The PERSON:
As a Software Architect specializing, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, designing, and implementing high-performance machine learning algorithms and models. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize software solutions that leverage the power of DirectML for accelerated AI computations. This role offers the opportunity to work on leading-edge projects, influence technical decisions, and mentor junior engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of machine learning algorithms and models using DirectML and other frameworks.
- Architect and implement high-performance software solutions for AI applications, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, and engineers to integrate features into our products and platforms.
- Capture and influence the hardware architecture with concrete data and feedback from the compilation challenges and directions of advanced AI models and frameworks.
- Drive innovation by staying current with the latest advancements in AI frameworks, flows and compilation techniques. Actively contribute to the development of best practices in the space.
- Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality software deliverables.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Â
- Extensive experience in software engineering with a focus on machine learning, AI, or computer vision.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with performance optimization techniques for high-throughput computing.
- In-depth knowledge of DirectML, including its architecture, APIs, and optimization techniques for GPU acceleration.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or ONNX, and integrating them with DirectML.
- Solid understanding of computer vision algorithms, neural network architectures, and model optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in parallel computing concepts and GPU programming using CUDA or OpenCL is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., Master's or Ph.D.) is preferred but not required.

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
